S/01Legal

For Lawyers

Provides lawyers with the insight and tools to shape cyber corporate strategy for their respective firms — covering governance, risk management, insurance, and incident response from a legal perspective. This is not a technical curriculum.

For Judges, Arbitrators & Mediators

Empowers arbitrators and mediators with the knowledge and tools to resolve complex cyber-driven disputes — addressing procedural and substantive considerations, including the admissibility of hacked evidence.

S/03Technical · CISO

For CISOs

The first-of-its-kind program providing relevant technical experience and exposure to emerging technologies for top-level information security executives. Experience as a CISO is required to apply.

S/04Insurance

For Insurance Executives

A first-of-its-kind training and certification program aimed at educating insurance professionals about fundamental IT perils, cyber coverage, and risk management.

S/05Business

For Business Executives

Addresses cybersecurity risk-management best practices by analyzing critical threats — built for senior executives with little to no cyber background.

Format & credit

UCLA graduate credit

Participants who complete a class are eligible for graduate credits toward a Cybersecurity Certificate from UCLA. Courses qualify for Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

2–3 day immersive

The in-person program can be completed in two or three days, with roughly 10 hours of prerequisite reading and 1–2 hours of homework.

In-person or online

Seminars run seasonally at locations around the globe. Group discounts are available for groups of three or more.

Who should attend?

Each class is tailored to the specific profession and provides a one-of-a-kind, world-class immersive learning experience.

When do classes begin?

The in-classroom course is offered several times throughout the year (seasonally) at various locations all over the globe.

Do I receive academic credit?

Participants who complete the class are eligible to receive graduate credits toward a Cybersecurity Certificate from UCLA. UCLA Extension courses qualify for Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

Is there an application fee?

What is the cost of the program?

Tuition varies based on the seminar selected. The cost covers course materials, access to UCLA's Online Learning Portal, and lunch and breakfast for on-site classes. Group discounts are available for groups of 3 or more.

How do I apply for a course?

Find and enroll in the course, check out, create a UCLA Extension account, complete the "Permission to Enroll" form, and submit your application for approval before completing payment.

Are there prerequisites or required work experience?

No explicit prerequisites or work experience are necessary. We evaluate each applicant based on their experience, prior cybersecurity knowledge, and technical skills, as we want each class to have the right mix of students.

How much time should I expect to spend on coursework?

For on-site courses, most of your time will be spent in the classroom. The coursework requires 1–2 hours of homework, in addition to roughly 10 hours of prerequisite reading.

How long will it take to complete the program?

The in-person program can be completed in 2 or 3 days, assuming you complete the prep work necessary before attending the on-site seminar.

Does the fee include hotel and travel?

No. The course fee covers the costs of the books and materials used in the class.

What type of financial aid is available?

No financial aid is available, but your company may offer a tuition reimbursement plan. We encourage you to contact your employer to find out about financing opportunities.
